60 Seconds to Save a Soul… What would you say? This is a question I had to ask myself; do I know & could I present the gospel of Christ well enough to impact a life effectively in a short amount of time. When you read this picture yourself speaking to a complete stranger at a bus stop or a grocery store.

“60 seconds”

By Edward Taylor III

What if you only had 60 seconds to save a soul what would you say?

If a man had his hand extended to you reaching out for help would you let out a life-line?

Or would you leave him gasping for air while you watch him sink deeper into sin as he walks away never to be seen again?

What if you had 50 seconds to save a soul what would you say?

Would a thought cross your mind in the fleeting seconds of time?

Would you ask the LORD “What can I say to save this man”?

What if you had 40 seconds to save a soul what would you say?

Would you present Christ in an entreating way?

Would you tell him of the sovereignty of God?

Would you speak of God’s never changing character?

Or would you tell him “God can save you from your sins”?

Would you speak the words that will free him from his dishonor, loneliness, & shame? Would you extend comfort to relieve his pain?

Do you know Christ well enough to preach the Gospel that can redeem a soul, bringing a man to Christ that he may be made whole?

What if you had 30 seconds to save a soul what would you say?

What if the hearer rejected you & in doing so rejected Christ; would you still cast your pearls before swine?

Or would you tell him he’s like a dying grape at the end of a vine?

What if you had 20 seconds to save a soul what would you say?

Would you consider that enough time, knowing that one word from GOD can change a life, would you still preach the Gospel of Christ?

(10 seconds left…)

Or would you just pass by ignoring the cry, as you look at your watch, watching 60 seconds roll by???

I will be highlighting other poets that have made their mark throughout history as well as my own poems as I aspire to do the same, the first of these’s is a poem written by Emily Dickinson, I saw similarities in our writing styles which attracted me to this poem, the way she uses nature to paint a picture with her words is the reason I chose this poem; Please enjoy & feel free to comment on this if you’d like; let me know what you think about it.

                                  There is another sky by Emily Dickinson
There is another sky,
Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine,
Though it be darkness there;
Never mind faded forests, Austin,
Never mind silent fields –
Here is a little forest,
Whose leaf is ever green;
Here is a brighter garden,
Where not a frost has been;
In its unfading flowers
I hear the bright bee hum:
Prithee, my brother,
Into my garden come!

As morning rolls into night, days pass by, life goes on: But who takes the time to appreciate the gift that’s been given? When you open your eyes to see another day take a moment to look around you, realize the blessings that found you, let your eyes breath in the beauty that surrounds you, & observe the poetry…

Something Poetic

There’s something poetic about life even the simplest things can contain the greatest of meanings. Like rain drops that camouflage a falling tear, or a drop of water sliding down an empty glass as it reflects the expecting & hopeful eyes of a bride to be, or like the calming breeze that blows threw the branches of trees; reminding you that no matter what obstacles are in your way, like the blowing breeze, you can overcome them. There’s something poetic about life from the reviving powers of the sun, to the still serenity of night, to the eyes that capture the beauty of a bird taking flight, or the marvelous colors of a flower in bloom, to the baby fast asleep at high noon. I describe things that you can soon observe, but only if you slow down, for if you take the time to escape from the stress & the strife I’m sure you’ll find that there’s something poetic about life…

When inspiration urges you to write,painting an amazing picture, words begin to unfold into something beautiful

My Words
By Edward LIMITLESS Taylor III

Searching for the perfect phrase my words begin to frantically form on a piece of scratch paper; As I begin to search the realm of my imagination for a single drop of creativity I pause to receive my next line. I write with the hope in my heart that these words will light up the corner of someone’s dark existence; Like a light house shimmering in the distance bringing relief to those who wish to see home once more, I pause again, looking into the distance at God’s glorious creation, we call nature, absorbing the things I see my eyes lay hold of the majestic mountains that form the background of this amazing portrait. My eyes also capture the many evergreen trees as the gentle breeze caresses their branches, as if the wind has found its love for the first time: Inspiration comes from the view I see helping me form beautiful expressions describing the emotions felt while words continue to flood from the depths of my soul, as I passionately pour out every part of me, I realize the creation that is before me, these are my words… this is my poetry…
